Hey, listen here…
Thanks for dropping by! Rather than load up too much in the “About” page of this site, I thought I would expand on this project’s genesis, status, and future plans in blog format. Short bites of insight with a good dose of SEO keywords thrown in as well (it must be done).
So to start this off, while elsewhere I mention that playlisting started with my daughter’s wedding reception mix… and in its current form (using a large-library streaming music service), that is very true. However, there was an earlier starting point that almost no one knows about.
When my wife, Vonda, and I were dating (c.1987-88) we spent several months separated by 2300 miles when she lived with her parents in Northern Ohio and I lived with mine in Orange Co. Calif. During that time, I made mix-tapes for her named R2V (Ron to Vonda). I would grab songs off the radio, off other tapes, and off vinyl and carefully order them onto the best TDK or Memorex tape I could buy at The Warehouse on Harbor Blvd. I would weave my own spoken commentary between the songs professing my love and devotion for my far-away girlfriend. I’m sure it ended up sounding as cheesy to Vonda as you’re thinking it was right now. But in the end, our love endured so maybe cheese has value, lol!
In any case, I learned that I loved curating collections of music for other people… including you! Now, I just get to use awesome libraries of music that deliver excellent quality art to your ears. Hey, before you go… head on back to the Home page and pick out a playlist to go - it’s free, so try something new or different if you’d like :-)
Whatever you try, I truly hope you like it!!
